Road Metals Limited has operated all over New Zealand in one form or another since 1955. Their truck and trailer units work hard, moving the mobile crushing plants around the South Island and transporting bulk aggregate and other construction materials wherever they are needed. Communication is essential for a business like this, which is why Road Metals contacted Xlerate about migrating from two-way radio to our mobile data service. They were also interested in a better way to manage road user charges.
The solution
Implementation of our fleet management system has given Road Metals two cost-effective ways to communicate efficiently with their drivers. Our solution also makes it easy for Road Metals to track off-road vehicle use, so that they can claim RUC refunds from LTNZ.
